Kony 2012, the widely known viral video, exposing the dictator responsible for thousands of deaths, is indeed very sad and unbelievably legit. However, despite all the things you have seen, or been told about the video, are lacking what it's true intentions are. This video is being encouraged by the government to be shown in schools and shared worldwide. What they call it is "Helping the world become a better place" when really its saying "Go to war with Uganda".
Our government is the "Police Department of the World". Our nation sticks its nose in other nations' business, and the results are almost never worth the sacrifice. Look at what we did in Libya. Our president gave that country Billions of dollars worth of weapons... Riiiiight before it turned on its own people, in which innocent civilians were shot and slaughtered throughout the streets. THEN
we had to go over there to provide support for the resistance and basically bomb the fuck out of the country, which resulted in even more civilian and American casualties.
We cannot fix every country and their problems. We can't keep going in because we feel its our duty to fight someone else's war. Of course its sad innocent people are being killed. Of course its hard to stomach seeing this on the news, but unfortunately, every time we try to force our way into another part of the world, either very little or nothing good comes of this. They haven't attacked us, and we haven't attacked them. We are not involved.
But unfortunately our government feels that American soldiers with families are expendable in every war they can possibly find.
In other news, this also acts as a distraction from governmental control, taxes, gas prices, and the economy. We are all focused on our own problems and well being until *Screen turns on* "30,000 children left orphaned by crazy dictator who rapes and kills children". People look away from their problems to the other countries, in which our problems get worse without anyones notice.
Kony 2012 is of course an extremely informative and saddening video.... but it was designed for 2 reasons. To encourage us to go to war with another country, and to distract us from our own countries problems.
I am sorry if i shocked or offended everyone.
However, for now this is a free country, with freedom of speech, and I intend to express my opinion.
