Previous Notes:

Subject Abberline has been admitted to the Twin Towers Mental Institution on July 29th after his court representative’s pleaded insanity during his murder trial of March 3rd of 2007.

Abberline, though passing a mental stability assessment, has been suffering from massive panic-attacks and paranoia, for reasons his doctors and instructors within the institution have been unable to evaluate themselves.

He has shown no signs of bipolar disorder and interacts with the other admitted patients without hostility, but continues to act agitated when left alone. These symptoms that Abberline has been exhibiting may be the result of auto phobia.

The purpose of these evaluations is to possibly relieve Abberline of stress by expressing himself on the recent events he was involved in, which may also provide valuable psychological information that could prove valuable in the process of pinpointing his issues and treating him accordingly.

Our progress together will be tape recorded for audio reference for future study. I will only resort to bringing in a licensed stenographer if for any reason Abberline shows signs of discomfort with my recording device. He seems more content around more people.

My first meeting with Abberline will be taking place in the prison section of the Twin Towers Institution, as authorities have advised me there have been incidents with these types of interviews in past occurrences. Though I believe this may stifle Abberline’s honesty in his answers, I have been insisted upon having protection in my proceedings.

File 1

Psychological Evaluation Session: 1
Date of Evaluation: 8/1/07

Session Notes:

Abberline and I have been placed into an interrogation room with 1 armed law official, accompanied by 2 outside the door. A plain metal table lies in the middle of the room, with two comfortably padded chairs placed to my specifications so I that I may interact with the subject more easily.

The subject looks very calm and casual, but his eyes look tired and weak as if he had difficulty sleeping. I am about to lay my tape recorder on the table before Abberline and began our session, and I hope his exhaustion won’t make a large impact on his interaction with me.

-Recording Commenced-

Psychologist: (There is a long pause before the sound of [Data Expunged] clearing her throat echoes in the small room)

“Eh-hem… [Data Expunged], Psychological Evaluation 1 of patient Jackson [Data Expunged] Abberline. Today’s date is Wednesday August 1st, 2007. The subject has presented wild outbursts of agony and frustration due to panic-attacks and exhibiting extreme paranoia on several occasions. The purpose of this evaluation is to bring to light anything that can help doctors understand Abberline’s situation and help him to the best of their abilities”…
(She pauses)

“Now Mr. Abberline… If you feel uncomfortable answering these questions you just let me know ok? We don’t have to look at them until your ready, but I want you to be as clear as you possibly can when you’re answering. Understand?”

Abberline: “I understand doctor… Since everything that’s happened, heh… no ones really been interested in listening to me… so, I very much appreciate your taking me out of that mental house to talk…it’s a real breath of fresh air.”

Psychologist: “Well Mr. Abberline, I want to help you just as much as the doctors and nurses in the hospital do… You’re not well, and we only want to find out what’s causing all this stress so that you aren’t hurting yourself”…

(the sound of notes being written on paper can be heard)…

Abberline:
(There is a silence until it is assumed Dr. [Data Expunged] once again establishes eye contact)…

“Doctor I’m gonna be honest with you, I really don’t think a few questions are going to help… I know that my mental health isn’t where it should be, but I think the only way to manage it is by doing this myself”…

Psychologist: “Well let’s just give it a try Mr. Abberline… This may really help you…”

Abberline: (Remains silent)…

Psychologist: “Now Mr. Abberline- (Abberline interrupts)

Abberline: “Um doctor, could you please call me Jackson? I… I’m not too keen on being called… Mister… Abberline anymore…”

Psychologist: “Of course…Now Jackson, how old are you currently?”

Abberline: “Right now I’m 29… I’ll be 30 next February on the 29th”…

Psychologist: “I see, and how long have you been a licensed surgeon for the UCLA Medical Center?”

Abberline: “Uh… lets see”…

(the sound of scratching is assumed to be Abberline itching his scalp)

“I believe it would’ve been my 4th year there in January… so I believe it was almost 4 years of being an emergency surgeon”…

Psychologist: (the sound of notes being written continues)

“So 4 years of a good paying job like that must’ve taken a lot of dedication. But I believe you took a temporary leave December 29th from the hospital. Do you mind if I ask for what reason?”…

Abberline: (his voice was silent for a moment)…

“I left with the intent to spend a few months with… with my wife… [Data Expunged]

Psychologist: “And how long were you and [Data Expunged] married?”

Abberline: …”5 years”…

(There is a silence)...

Psychologist: “Jackson, like I said if you don’t want to answer some of these questions you don’t have to”…

Abberline: “I know that doctor… I’m… just a bit tired… my night terrors are coming back and they’re nasty ones… Do you mind if we… do this some other time? Maybe once I’m better rested? I’d really appreciate it”…

Psychologist: “It’s no trouble Jackson. However we are scheduled to meet every Wednesday for the next few months so I’d really like to get to know you better next time we see each other”…

Abberline: “Thank you doctor… I appreciate the understanding…

(The sound of his chair being pushed back can be heard as the sound of footsteps indicate him calmly walking to the door for the law official to escort him back to the opposite wing of the building)

(a small gasp was uttered before he left the room)

(The tape continues to record with only the slight sound of notes being written and the slight sound of Dr. [Data Expunged] breathing)

Psychologist: “Side note, as Jackson [Data Expunged] Abberline left the room I observed a small blood spot resembling the pattern of a cut mark over his right shoulder blade on the back of his shirt. I may have to report that to the Twin Tower staff to make sure Mr. Abberline isn’t hurting himself”…
